What we keep, why, and who touches it. Last set: 4 July 2026.
What we store
- Your route: email address, name and masthead, city and timezone, delivery time, chosen sections and feeds, optional calendar URL, optional printer email, optional star sign, dedication and Editor's Brief. All of it exists to write and deliver your paper.
- Your editions: each morning's PDF is archived so your paper can be re-sent or shown to you later.
- Waitlist: just your email address and when you joined.
There are no advertising trackers and no analytics scripts on this site. The landing page remembers your name and city in your own browser only (localStorage), never on our servers.
Who processes it
- Cloudflare hosts the service and stores the data (Workers, D1, R2).
- Resend sends the morning email to the addresses you configured.
- Stripe handles payment; we never see your card number.
- AI providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) receive the day's inputs (your city's forecast, your calendar entries for the day, headlines from your feeds, your brief) to write the editorial and draw the comic. They are contractually barred from training on API traffic under their standard terms.
- Data sources (Open-Meteo, your RSS feeds, Wikimedia) receive ordinary requests; your identity is not attached to them.
Your calendar
If you file a calendar URL, we read it once per night to list the day's appointments in your paper. It is never shared beyond the AI editor writing your copy, and removing the URL from your settings ends the reading immediately.
Your rights
Write to hello@paperboy.page to get a copy of your data, correct it, or have your account and archive deleted. Deletion is completed within 30 days; billing records Stripe legally must keep are the only exception. If you are in the EU/EEA you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority, though we would rather fix it first.
Cookies
None. The setup wizard uses a signed link instead of a login session, and the site sets no cookies at all.
